Vacancy: Fire Safety Course Co-ordinator and Tutor

Tutor vacancy

Salary: £32,000 – £40,000 dependent upon qualifications and experience

Hours per weeks: 37 hours, full time

Location: Evesham, Worcestershire (office), Stone, Staffordshire (main training venue), customer locations in England and Wales

Xact is a leading provider of Level 3, 4 and 5 fire safety courses and qualifications with our core customers being from the Fire Service, Building Control, fire risk assessors and sprinkler sectors.

You must have

  • A teaching qualification or working towards
  • Practical experience in the fire safety sector
  • In depth experience applying ADB and BS 9999
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Team oriented and flexible approach
  • Professional attitude and appearance
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office products.

You will be required to travel and deliver training and so it is vital that you have a full UK driving licence and your own car.

Vacancy: Residential Sprinkler System Assessor

Location: Working from home, Worcestershire (office) and locations in England and Wales

Salary: Negotiable depending on contractual arrangements e.g. sub-contractor or employee and experience.

Introduction

A vacancy for a part-time assessor has arisen at training provider Xact to support our growing business specialising in the field of sprinklers.

Successful applicants will join our experienced team assessing course and workplace activities for residential and domestic sprinkler systems.

A recognised Assessment Centre, Xact has pioneered an approach to helping delegates become competent and gain qualifications that meet National Standards via courses and workplace activities and through Recognition of Prior Learning.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Assess evidence from sprinkler courses and workplace activities to appropriate standards.
  • Provide constructive feedback to delegates.
  • Collaborate with Operations Manager, Internal Verifiers, Assessment Centre and other assessors in development of course and workplace assessments.
  • Operate in accordance with policies and procedures of Assessment Centre and Awarding Bodies.
  • Maintain a current CPD record and keep current in residential and domestic sprinkler systems.

Experience

Applicants must have previous experience in the design, installation and commissioning of residential and domestic sprinkler systems.

Ideally, applicants will have experience in mentoring and assessing.

Location and travel

Working from home, with bi-monthly meetings at our Head Office in Evesham, Worcestershire. A full driving licence is essential to this role.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Communicating and liaising with customers, suppliers and staff; general office duties, e.g. dealing with post, greeting clients, filing, answering telephone, taking messages, updating database, ordering supplies, managing diaries, etc.
  • Administer courses from the pre-course stage through to completion and post-course. This will include dealing with matters such as booking forms; nominal role; joining instructions; booking accommodation; confirming course resources. Preparing course material: printing course manuals, workbooks, exercises and reference documents, feedback forms and assessments etc.
  • Administer database: Record keeping and processing delegates’ course work; such as receipting work; posting to assessors, sending work to course delegates, returning work and issue of certificates.
  • Support the administration of assessments and qualifications including registration, record keeping, delegates’ portfolio submission, receipt, assessment, re-submission, return of work, issue of certificates and updating database.
