Fire Safety Apprenticeships

Fire safety apprenticeships offer a route for organisations to develop fire safety skills among existing staff and attract new recruits by offering the opportunity to achieve nationally-recognised qualifications. They offer the individual an opportunity to work towards competency whilst working within an organisation, earning throughout the apprenticeship programme. Level 3 Fire Safety Advisor

A Fire Safety Advisor works with businesses to help them keep people, premises, and the environment safe from fire by offering advice and education to reduce risk. People in this role may be employed by a Fire and Rescue Service or they may work for an organisation in the public, private or not for profit sector. The Level 3 Fire Safety Advisor apprenticeship typically takes 18 months to complete.

Level 4 Fire Safety Inspector

Fire Safety Inspector’ is a specialist protection role which assesses fire safety in the built environment, including complex buildings. Working with a variety of partner agencies, fire safety inspectors provide and technical expertise, participate in consultation and enforce fire safety legislation via investigation and prosecution. The Level 4 Fire Safety Inspector apprenticeships typically takes 24 months to complete.


What is an Apprenticeship?

Apprenticeships are structured programmes which incorporate training, working and assessment.  Apprentices work towards competence whilst earning and contributing skills to their organisation. Working alongside training allows individuals to practically apply their new skills straight away. Resulting in fully-competent individuals.

Access to Apprenticeships

Fire safety apprenticeships allow organisations to develop fire safety skills among existing staff and attract new recruits. The government offers funding to help support businesses utilise apprenticeships and promote growth of skills and competency among the workforce.

Levy-paying employers, such as Fire and Rescue Services will receive £11,000 per apprentice, Whilst non-levy payers receive 95% of the apprenticeship costs from the Government. Apprenticeship Pathways

There are many benefits to undertaking an Apprenticeship as a route to achieve qualifications and competency in your field. The programme is spread over a longer period of time, allowing the individual to work and study with less impact on personal life and time. 

When you complete an Apprenticeship with Xact, you will receive access to our bespoke web-based Xact Learning Environment (XLE), giving apprentices 24/7 access to resources. All of our training is delivered by sector competent tutors in either a face to face or virtual environment. Progress Reviews take place between employer, apprentice and mentors every 6-12 weeks. Meaning you will be supported every step of the way.
