Continuing The Legacy

Statement from Kelly Nock, Operations Manager at Xact Consultancy and Training

“It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Trevor Norwood, Founder and Managing Director at Xact Consultancy and Training. Trevor passed away suddenly in the early hours of Tuesday, 16th January, at home with his wife.

This news has come as a huge shock to all of us at Xact, and we are sending our love and support to Trevor’s friends and family at this difficult time.

Trevor’s early career in fire safety began at Essex Fire & Rescue service in 1974. Upon leaving in 2005, Xact was established. His highly influential role in the fire community was closely entwined with the ongoing development of the fire safety industry.

Trevor was well known for his drive and dedication to ensuring that fire safety training should be accessible to everyone. He surrounded himself with people who believed in his vision and helped shape the business into what it is today.  Trevor was an inspirational mentor for many of our current and previous employees and a well-loved colleague. He will be sadly missed.”

Iain Thomson, CEO of the Assent group of businesses, who purchased Xact at the end of 2022, described Trevor as an instrumental figure in fire safety and a driving force behind Assent’s acquisition of Xact, which has ensured the on-going development and growth of the company. He added,

“When Xact Consultancy and Training was purchased by Assent, one of the key aspects of this process was ensuring the long-term future of the excellent work that Trevor had been spearheading. Our commitment to his memory is that this work will continue under Assent, with the team he has built, and who shared his vision, still very much involved.

I’m sure you will join me in sending his family, friends, and colleagues all our sincere condolences and support at this time.”
