The Fire Safety Order applies to England and Wales. (Northern Ireland and Scotland have their own laws.) It covers 'general fire precautions' and other fire safety duties which are needed to protect 'relevant persons' in case of fire in and around most 'premises'.
The Fire (Scotland) Act 2005 [232Kb]
A fire services Act which makes provision for events and situations other than fires. Part 3 of the legislation covers the fire safety for non-domestic premises in Scotland.
The Fire Safety (Scotland) Regulations 2006 [95Kb]
These Regulations make provision in connection with the carrying out of assessments to identify risks in respect of harm caused by fire, and the review of those assessments. They also make provision about fire safety in relevant premises as defined in the Fire (Scotland) Act 2005.
The Fire and Rescue Services (Northern Ireland) Order 2006
The Order reforms Northern ireland fire safety legislation in line with increased emphasis on fire prevention. It replaces the Fire Services (Northern Ireland) Order 1984 and reflects broadly the legislative changes introduced in England, Scotland and Wales (OPSI link).
