Target audience

Plumbing professionals, sprinkler engineers and installers, professionals responsible for inspecting and testing sprinkler systems.

Aim

To enable delegates to install, commission and maintain residential and domestic sprinkler systems and check installations.

Outcomes

On completion, delegates should have an understanding of:

  • Legislation and codes of practice
  • Options for water supplies
  • Types and positioning of sprinkler heads
  • Alternatives for pipework and valve arrangements
  • Alarm requirements
  • System test requirements
  • Documentation required

Delegates will also learn to:

  • Assess a design
  • Identify design faults
  • Use CPVC fire sprinkler pipe and fittings

LPCB 1301 approval scheme

The course is designed for delegates to acquire the knowledge and skills to be assessed as an LPCB 1301 Installation Supervisor. For more information on the assessment requirements see Section 2.5 ... LPS 1301 [112Kb]

Assessment

Delegates will be assessed on their ability to install, commission and maintain a residential and domestic sprinkler system

Pre-course study

Delegates should be aware that pre-course study is required. Xact will supply this distance learning module one month before the course. The module has been designed in consultation with the Copper Development Association UK and representatives of the Residential and Domestic Sprinkler industry

Delivery
